Mommi was born in Peru, finessed in Japan and learnt all about how to give great atmosphere in Miami. It’s nurturing “Mom” side however, is all South West London and it is this cultural aspect that comes into focus with the launch of September’s new Sunday concept.
Picture this if you will… a brisk, crisp autumn day. A family ramble through the wilds of Clapham Common, a short swagger up the High Street to that perfect Sunday Bolthole.. Mommi awaits you with open arms, a deliciously designed space, a fabulous brand new Brunch&Lunch menu (complete with the ultimate in Peruvian Roasts) AND a free of charge pop up Kids Corner where supervised Crafty Fun is the name of the game and absolute familial bliss the ultimate aim.
THE KIDS TABLE – birthed from personal parental experience by the ever so lovely Sarah Frow – is a designated on-site, craft-focused entertainment space for children aged 3 to 10. Holding court and ready to supervise is a team of fully qualified and DBS checked childcareres, keen to entertain the nippers for the duration of pre-lunch cocktails, between-course chat and post pud relaxation. And what of this menu? Accredited Gluten Free by Coeliac UK, the newly launched Sunday Edit is heavy on the Brunch, (Latin Benedict, Mommi’s Boy Burger, Smashed Avo ) focused on the Lunch (Nikkei Tempura Fish&Chips, Chimichurri Bife de Chorizo Steak & the delectable Mommi Chirashi Sushi Power Bowl) with a healthy dollop of Craft&Draft, Coffee&Cocktails and Gins&Spritz. Peruvian Sunday Roasts are the undeniable standout here…. think Roast Anticucho Spatchcock Chicken, Coriander & Aji Mirasol Chimichurri, Roasting Gravy served with Garlic Roasted Baby Potatoes, Quinoa Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Beetroot, Blood Orange & Thyme, Yuzu Glazed Carrots & Parsnips & Charred Tender Stem Broccoli with Ginger Oil. A Nikkei take on a traditional feast – deliciously different every which way.
