    Ben Watts R-O-N-E

Artist in Residence (Click for more info)

    Ben Watts

Internationally renowned artist and LA based photographer Ben Watts, (brother of movie star, Naomi Watts), is an icon in his own right. Shooting for the likes of Nike, Vanity Fair, Elle and Rolling Stone, Watts brings the frenetic verve of street photography to his diverse body of work. With an incredible variety of subjects – from teenage ice skaters and Brooklyn biker gangs to world-famous actors, supermodels and musicians – Watts captures a feeling of barely contained, youthful energy. His photographs vibrate like a boom box blasting drums and bass.

MOMMI’s SW London branch is home to a carefully curated collection from Ben Watts’ brilliant body of work; a bright, vivacious collection of energetic photos and prints.

“The excitement of his brilliant photography comes from an unending passion for people mixed with his intense curiosity and impeccable personal style. You see his zest for life in every photograph. With Ben’s direction, his subjects become performers from the moment they step into his ring.” — Jim Moore, Creative Director, GQ

MOMMI – Gluten Free & Flavour Full. Deliciously Different Dining.

MOMMI – Accredited as Gluten Free by Coeliac UK

    Clapham SW4, London, July 2017

To champion the “effortlessly healthy” Nikkei tag for which they are renowned, MOMMI has strived towards an entirely gluten free food menu since launch. The small plate, market style ethos with taste profiles hailing from Latin America and Japan has always encouraged a deliciously different dining experience – epic flavours and a striking execution. “Official” gluten free accreditation from Coeliac UK is the ultimate approval stamp.

The bespoke selection of Set Dining Menus provide a curated balance of Fish, Meat & Veg dishes from the Robata Grill, Raw Bar and Hot Kitchen sections – the open plan kitchen encouraging diners to witness the path of their ingredients from picked to plate. Indigenous house dishes such as Nikkei chirashi sushi bowls, Japanese-inspired ceviche and quinoa-topped teriyaki are a natural fit for a gluten free food restaurant. A fully contrived weekend Brunch Menu (Bottomless Bubbly Set Dining of which is a big part) featuring Cinnamon Waffle Churros, Pan Y Chicharron and a decadent Melted Chocolate & Banana Brownie has been an exciting and experimental development challenge for Exec Chef Paul Sowden.

Sarah Sleet, chief executive of Coeliac UK said: ‘We know eating out safely is a top concern for people with coeliac disease. We are working with the hospitality industry to help them deliver good quality menu choices for people with coeliac disease and we are delighted MOMMI is recognizing the importance of catering for this market by gaining accreditation from Coeliac UK.’

    FFEO Award Winner 2017

MOMMI – proud to be overall winner of the Free From Eating Out Awards 2017

    Clapham SW4, London, November 2017

Recently accredited as Gluten Free by Coeliac UK, MOMMI has gone that one step further in order to create an entirely allergen friendly environment for their diners. A curated Vegan menu featuring stand-out dishes such as Anticucho Aubergine Cooked on Coal, Beetroot Causa, Pomegranate, Hazelnuts, Smokey Tomato, Orange & Choclo Dressing sit alongside a bespoke Dairy Free list showcasing the likes of Lamb Cutlets Yakitori, Green Tea Miso, Aji Limo & Coriander – long gone here are the days of “we’ll serve it without sauce” MOMMI has raised the stakes, appreciating that those dining with allergens deserve equal deliciousness in execution AND in dish description.

All MOMMI staff are trained in allergen management, with a hands-on ethos led from the top. Guest preferences are recorded for future reference and the EPOS system is configured to communicate details directly to the kitchen. Staff focus on guest comfort and relaxation, letting the operational set up deal effectively with the detail. The result: happy diners, confident in their ordering, delighting in their dishes, and keen to return.

MOMMI’s small plate, Nikkei market menu features an abundance of big flavours, delicate execution and provident ingredients. A strikingly stylish fit-out, a beautifully positioned, utterly boozy and artfully manned bar, plus frequent Live Music nights – all these combine to create the most fabulous of atmospheres…

Michelle Berriedale-JohnsonDirector of the FFEO Awards 2017 says: “This is a seriously exciting place to eat – the high quality ingredients, the combinations of ingredients, textures and flavours – all were simply fantastic. Incredible food in a fabulous environment…’
